Battlefield High School Athletic Booster Club 2011-12 Scholarship Application Deadline for Consideration: May 11, 2012
Description: An annual scholarship awarded to graduating Battlefield High School athletes.
The BHS Athletic Booster Club is currently reviewing the scholarship program for possible enhancement. Please contact Mindy Dappen with ideas or suggestions for the BHS Athletic Booster Club’s Scholarship.
Requirements:
- Graduating senior of Battlefield High School who will be attending a college, university, or community college for the Fall semester/quarter of the 2011-12 school year.
- Varsity team member of a Battlefield High School sport for at least one season (fall, winter, or spring) in both junior and senior school years.
- Provision of the following academic information:- GPA (core and cumulative)- SAT and/or ACT score (for SAT score, provide total of three test areas)
- Completed essay response (see page two of application)
- Completed Battlefield High School Athletic Booster Club 2011-12 Scholarship Application (see pp. two & three)
Deadline: Submit all required documentation to the Main Office for placement in the Athletic Boosters Club’s mailbox by the end of the day on the required deadline; May 11, 2012.
Selection: The selection will be made by a committee of three members of the Athletic Booster Club (to include at least one BHS ABC Board member). Scholarship Committee members will be approved at the April Board meeting. Applications will be considered based on equal weight given to each of the requirements detailed above. Within these requirements, the committee will balance consideration of applicant differences in:
- Years of participation,
- Level of athletic and academic achievement
- Essay quality
- Comments from senior year athletic coach and guidance counselor
Award: The check for each scholarship will be made payable to the student following confirmation of college acceptance.
